Traditional Tibetan Medicine

Sowa Rigpa (གསོ་བ་རིག་པ་།), is the Tibetan language word for the traditional medical system of Tibet, translated into English as “the Science of Healing.”

  • Traditional Tibetan Medicine is an approach to health and well-being that originated many thousands of years ago in the Tibetan cultural region that expands beyond the present day borders; it includes practices derived from the harsher regions of present-day Mongolia to the warmer climates along the Silk Road to the south and beyond.

Today, Tibetan Medicine is becoming increasingly popular due to its accessible and practical applications for the modern stresses of our world. TTM’s simple (and expert) foundational observations of constitutional tendencies leave no corner of the human experience forgotten.  From diet assessment, movement, lifestyle, and living environment, all aspects of a life are considered.

Because the physical, emotional, spiritual and practical notions are fully considered, TTM can approach the well-being of the individual no matter the goal.

Eréne focuses on the basics of diet and lifestyle as well as Nejang yoga and herbal/external therapy recommendations. She has spent many years studying the esoteric hygiene practices that allow for detoxification and rejuvenation. TTM is an educational system for us to move deeper into our human experience.

  • A practical movement and breathing practice for the everyday or accomplished practitioner. Simple and profound fundamental movements that focus on self-healing and longevity, Nejang is one of the practices that can make the ordinary extraordinary. Eréne has been using this movement practice (as taught to her by Dr. Nida) since 2010, and she has found it to be one of the most simple and effective spiritual and physical practices available.

Nejang can be done by most anyone, and modifications of all movements are available as part of the class or upon request.

Let’s go back to the beginning and just practice.

(Individual sessions online or in-person. Group sessions available upon request. Check calendar for scheduled group sessions).

Mantic Arts

The Mantic Arts are a group of methods included in the original forms/branches of traditional medicines.

  • Chinese Polestar Astrology (or “Zi Wei Dou Shu”) is the Song Dynasty system of astrology that analyzes a person’s birth time and place to look at an individual’s qi and fate pattern. This practice examines the playful interchange of Nature/Humans/World, as well as the repetitive and cyclical nature of existence. It also examines our specific relationship to the ebb and flow of all known and unknown phenomena as it relates to the traditional Chinese philosophies.

Using the 12 animals and 5 elements of the zodiac as a metaphorical language to interpret a person’s personal fate and freedom threshold, Polestar Astrology is a way to understand the potentiality of one’s tendency and capacity in this life cycle. Eréne is known for her ability to release dogma around astrological interpretation to understand that it isn’t everything and nothing is written in stone.

To have a conversation about the fate/freedom one has been born into, where one may be going and the interplay of ancient knowledge and the modern world, it’s best to start with a Natal Astrology session (birth chart).

Later, we can look at decade cycles and annual cycles( every year beginning with lunar new year).

You must know your birth time and place in order to do astrology readings.

Please schedule and submit personal information at least 10 days before your session.

Sessions are available online and in-person.

  • Often referred to as the “I Ching,” the Zhouyi text used is the translation and commentary presented by Liu Ming.

Sometimes in life, we are faced with decisions, questions, or confusions and even fate thresholds that present outside of our ordinary decision-making abilities.

The Zhouyi, originally used as a wisdom text to understand the most gentle way to overthrow a corrupt government, takes a measured view of history, personal fate, and freedom thresholds to know when to move forward, stay put, or retreat.

We throw the coins 6 times and see what the energy around your current situation is and where it may be going.

    Available in-person and online.

  • Eréne has studied both the Chinese tradition of Feng Shui and the Tibetan tradition and equivalent Sa Che. Over the last 20 years, she has been able to bring simple changes into the homes of clients to strengthen systems that support the individual, business and family unit.

Her approach is mainly from "Form School" of thought and energetic calculation, as well as considering astrology of inhabitants and flow of the space. Depending on the combination of inhabitants, location and goals, Eréne can do much work remotely and then plan one or two site visits and follow-up.

    Available in-person and online.

However, there is currently no official accreditation, licensing, or standardization procedure that has been established for Tibetan medicine practitioners in the United States/North America.

Included in TTM are meditation and breathing exercises, movement/yoga, and sleep/dream practices, nutrition, et al. These are educational in nature and are available in person and online.
